The cast iron roti Tawa comes pre-seasoned by the factory. However, for better seasoning, it is recommended to re-season it before the first use and maintain it after each use.

To clean the pan, simply wash it with hot water, dry it, apply a thin layer of cooking oil using a Scott towel, and wipe it all over.

To season the pan: 1. Thoroughly wash the new cast iron pan in hot water. 2. Place the pan in a preheated oven for a few minutes to ensure it is completely dry. 3. Coat the grill/griddle with grease or oil, covering the entire pan to reduce the possibility of external rust. 4. Bake the pan in a 350-degree oven for an hour. 5. Let the pan cool, and wipe off any excess oil.

For best results, repeat this seasoning process two or three times, though the Tawa can be satisfactory after a single treatment.
